I was looking for a career change or at least to have additional income so I started with technical translation. They're always looking for people with specific skillsets and I happened to have a friend who did work for them and gave me a push to try. I was proficient in my field of expertise and started up as a freelancer for translation agency. Some answers simply cannot be given without these factors in mind.
